In which you get to see wildlife in action, pretty much the same way you would if David Attenborough was showing you.
Remember those first photos you took that were of an insect or something that came out really badly when you finally got the photos back in the post? Yep, this is pretty much one of them, except that frankly today's youth (my jammy nephew)are lucky to have crystal clear digital shots.
There are two lizards in this photo.
(Right by the top two holes if you can't see them).
Most exotic for Dorset.

We didn't just hang out on my bed all summer. We did other things too.
We went to the lighthouse a few times (that'd be Portland Bill for those of you that know), it's an awfully good one.
(that is so totally nearly life size)
It's just lovely down there when the sun shines.

Best playschool ever.
This was my playschool - not just mine obviously - there were a whole bunch of us there.
Pretty hazy on the details, I was only 2 when I went there, but think it was an old MOD building. Forget that though. Just think princess castle.
Awesome.

Ahhh.. I'm back on my island.
Which, by the way, is bonkers. The Olympics sailing is going to be held here and we have soldiers with guns and barricades and an Olympic village. Soldiers with guns! An Olympic village! On Portland! Goodness. Obviously I want this to be informative and interesting so I have been out to get pictures.
Ooh look - you can see all the sailing bits and bobs.
Closer..
Now you can be dazzled by an Olympic Village too.
Oh, and despite the look of the grumpy sky, it is for the Summer Olympics.

My heart belongs to... that windy island where I grew up.
