A post in which I stand up for gingers and stepchildren and shame Rango and the rest of you.

So we just watched Rango and I thought it was great - funny, quirky and a little bit different than your regular animated film. Yeah, yeah, whatever. For the first time in my life I heard the phrase 'beaten like a red-headed stepchild'. Um, hello? Like, I have red hair, plus I'm a stepchild.

Check out Urban Dictionary for a hilarious range of definitions - basically, you beat your step kids first because you like them less and you beat the gingers before the rest. So that red-headed stepchild is top of the beating-list. Lucky me.

A Sunday-something-to-lust-after: well, kind of..

I was just taking a little peek at the Tiffany website, I do rather like a lovely emerald.

This £97,000 jewelled clip was commissioned by a client who 'was stung by the real version of this sea creature'.

Today's lust isn't for the piece of jewellery, it isn't my favourite, it is for the ability to commission jewellery based on accidents. 

Kind of brilliant.

Summer is my friend.

Yes, I know, another summer post, but the sun is too delicious for words and it makes me awfully happy, so there you go.

Summer lounging.

It is Day 381 in the moving house and we aren't finished yet. We are totally getting there, just not yet. This week is all warm and lovely, so what we need to do is drop everything and get outside and start lounging. With a big drink. 

(These lovely things are all from Pottery Barn. Does anyone else hear Pottery Barn and immediately think of Friends and the apothecary table? Oh, the 90s...)

Hurray for the 17th May!

Today is Norway's National Day. Yeay. It celebrates the 1814 signing of the constitution that declared Norway to be an independent nation. (Should you wish to learn more, and I am sure you do, please do go to this informative Wikipedia article).

Anyway, it is a big day here - so hurrah for parades, sausages and national dress.

Yep, EVERYONE dresses up. 

This is my littlest stepson from a couple of years ago - all the schools meet up and walk with their classes. (Oh and let's not tell him I'm using this picture...).

Oh, and they let their gingers dress up and have a flag.
